Day of Meditation

It did not quite turn out to be quite what I had hoped for. It was so cold in the room that I had my winter jacket on most of the day. I wished that I had brought a quilt. I kept thinking that I could be home quilting. Oh well, I am looking forward to working on my Nativity scene after supper. I sure am glad for quilter friends cuz they inspire me to get things done. Wed. night at our Crescentwood group, I worked on it and who knows this year might see it completed.

Blog Visiting

I find it so interesting to visit other people's blogs. I hopped over to K's today and there was a button about a giveaway. Well, my curiosity was piqued so over I went to that. It's LeKaQuiltgiveawaycontest. I had fun entering even if I don't win and found another blog to follow.

Amazing places to quilt

This past weekend, my dh and I went over to our ds's house. Bruce helped Ian with moulding and I visited with Stephanie. While she was busy with her nieces and nephews, I hand-sewed a letter or two onto a Christmas wall-hanging. Nothing like having quilting to go. That reminded me to check when our next guild meeting is as I will probably take some hand quilting there. I have some handwork to finish before Christmas that I started last year and thought for sure that I'd have it finished by this Christmas. Is there anyone else like that out there? I promise that one of these days, there will be pictures on this blog. M's going to help me. Have a good day.

Fantastic Retreat

St. Malo Retreat was fantastic as usual. I put the borders on the quilt top that I worked on at Stacy's retreat and Myra graciously helped me with an envelope purse. I quilted for the first time with invisible thread and that was quite the experience. It was blessed several times as I kept re-threading the machine. By the end of my sewing time Friday evening, I was starting to be cross-eyed. Throughout the weekend, there were many times I laughed so hard that I was ready to go buy some depends. One of these days, I will surprise everyone with pictures.

The kindness of bloggers

The kindness of quilters has been confirmed for me by quilters who are bloggers. I really appreciate everyone who has welcomed me, especially ladies who have done so when asked to by someone who knows me, aka, Myra and Katherine. Well, we three ladies are off to St. Malo for a quilt retreat and I'm going to hunt for "our" camera but hubby seems to keep hiding it. Oops, still have to pack my clothes. Well, beddings ready so important things first, grin.

Getting ready for retreat

Today, I got my bobbins ready for the retreat this weekend and stopped at Superstore and got my glasses adjusted. Thought it was time when I was taking them off to do closework. Decided that wasn't good for a quilt weekend so got the bifocals in the right spot. I guess it's a sign of mature years when that's a requirement of getting ready for a quilt retreat, lol. Now, to get my projects ready. I wonder if I'm the only one to get my quilting ready, then my clothes. Important things first, I say. Oh yes, also stopped to get some goodies to put on the cookies I'm making. Can't say what in case Myra reads this post. Yesterday, I went to the chiropractor so my back's in order also. I'm tuned up, the machine's tuned up and thing's are looking good.

Hope to get quilting today

It was exciting to see your comment Myra. Finally figured out where to go to approve comments. This is a learning experience for sure, grin. I'm hoping to get quilting this afternoon. I need to figure out what I'm taking to the retreat next weekend and help Joanne with games. I think I'll work on my envelope bag.
